So far so good!
I've been to the gym 2 times this week so far; once for Zumba (only 30 minutes cause my son was DONE with daycare) and once for the elliptical (45 minutes)!
I've also started really being conscientious of what I am eating and drinking. I've stopped all carbonated drinks and juices, pretty much only drinking water, coffee, or occasionally milk for the most part. Also, I'm avoiding white foods... potatoes, white bread, white rice, etc. since they don't have much nutritional value.
It's not been too tough yet, but I've only been at it for a few days. I've also got BBQ Baked Chickpeas in the oven right now, they smell wonderful and are a nutritious snack... hopefully they taste as good as they smell!
I'm currently sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, my boy is in his swing, and we are enjoying the beautiful GA day. It's sunny and 70 out. Not quite Feb-like, but wonderful!
I'm trying to prepare for a job interview that's tomorrow, I should probably be nervous, but I have faith that God will lead me where I need to be. We could really use the money though, since I've been unemployed for almost 2 months now.
Anyway, maybe I'll write again before next Thursday. Maybe. :)

It begins.... Measurements
Hi! Welcome to my health and fitness blog.
I started out overweight a couple of years ago. Then I got pregnant in August 2010. Now I sit here in the "obese" BMI range.Oy. I don't "feel" obese... but obviously some things need to change. I still haven't lost all the baby weight, though I blame much of that on breastfeeding... I wasn't one of the fortunate mommies that lost a billion pounds while nursing. Not only that, but if I cut too many calories out, my supply drops.
However, my son will be a year old in about a month and a half and I am going to be weaning him, so I will be able to really watch my calories soon. Anyway, I'm not really sure where this blog is going to go, just follow my journey of getting healthy and fit.
So without further ado, here are my measurements as of today. I figure that I'll maintain accountability by posting this stuff publicly, and since I'm not really ashamed of any of this, hopefully someone else will see it and not feel ashamed as well. This is my only body, and while I love it now, I need to change some things so I can take better care of it, and minimize health issues so I can be around for a long time with my son (and future kid(s)) and my husband.
Height: 5 feet, 5.75 inches (yes, that .75 matters!)
Weight: 217.8 pounds
Bust: 47 inches
Chest: 40 inches
Waist: 40.5 inches
Hips: 42.75 inches
Thighs: 28 inches (right) and 27.5 inches (left)
Calves: 16 inches (both)
Upper Arm: 14 inches (right) and 13.5 inches (left)
Forearm: 10.5 inches (right) and 10 inches (left)
I've done a couple of BMI/Body Fat tests online and got various results.
The body fat % results vary from 26-31% (which I honestly think may be a little low) and the BMI results are 35.4.
So, there we go. I want to lose enough weight/fat to put me in a healthy BMI/Body Fat Range, which would be 65lbs for BMI. I know that isn't very accurate so I am just going to play it by ear once I get closer. I think I still want to lose at least 50, which would put me about 10-15lbs less than before I got pregnant.
Anyway, now that I have written an essay, I'm done :) Below is what my measurements look like in MyVirtualModel, which looks larger than I feel, but whatever.
Goodbye until next time!
